Batshir Torchio
Batshir Torchio is a long time member of B'nai Emunah. Currently Batshir is a rabbinical student at The Academy for Jewish Religion, Los Angeles.
Batshir is originally from New York, where she earned a BA in Secondary Education at SUNY Stony Brook and attended The Jewish Theological Seminary, working toward a masters in Judaic studies.
As an adult Batshir has worked as a Jewish educator in a number of settings, and for the last six years joyfully as middle school Judaic studies teacher at Brandeis Hillel Day School in San Francisco.
Batshir is grateful to her family, Dean, Fred, Max, and Renee, who make everything worthwhile.

Our Story
We were founded in 1949 by German-speaking Jews, many of whom spent WW II in Japanese-occupied Shanghai.
Today, we are about 100 family units with diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
We are affiliated with the Conservative Movement.
