Rabbi Batshir Torchio

Batshir Torchio is a long time member of B'nai Emunah.  Batshir was ordained as a rabbi at The Academy for Jewish Religion, Los Angeles on June 10, 2013.

Batshir is originally from New York, where she earned a BA in Secondary Education at SUNY Stony Brook and attended The Jewish Theological Seminary, working toward a masters in Judaic studies.  

As an adult Batshir has worked as a Jewish educator in a number of settings, and for the last six years joyfully as middle school Judaic studies teacher at Brandeis Hillel Day School in San Francisco.  She is now the Rabbi-in-residence at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.

Batshir is grateful to her family, Dean, Fred, Max, and Renee, who make everything worthwhile.
