Sharon Bleviss

Sharon Bleviss was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended public schools and religious school nearby.

Sharon attended UCLA and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Psychology.  She then moved north to San Francisco where she earned a master's degree in Education of Exceptional Children from San Francisco State University. That began a career, now spanning 30 years, in special education.

At SFSU, Sharon also met her husband, Kirk Whitlatch, and they have five children:  Anna, 25, twins Adam and Aaron, 20, and twins Andrew and Alex, 16. All of the children attended religious school at Congregation B'nai Emunah.

Sharon and her family joined B'nai Emunah in 1997 and Sharon joined the board shortly thereafter. She has been the Chair of the Education Committee, a member of Sisterhood, chair of various activities and now President since May 2006.
