Pray, Sing, Learn, Eat, and Schmooze

At B’nai Emunah we offer a number of opportunities for celebrating Shabbat.

These include:

  • Friday Evening Services and Kiddush
  • Saturday Morning Services and Kiddush
  • Shabbat Dinners

Friday Evening Services

Friday Evening Services begin at 7:30 pm and last approximately one hour. The Shabbat service features communal singing and silent prayer, affording us a chance to leave the work-week behind.

Alternate First Friday Evening Services we will either celebrate Shabbat Shelanu or Torah Study.  Torah study is always followed by mourner’s kaddish for those who are in mourning and a light kiddush.  Shabbat Shelanu is a Family Shabbat heavily attended by families of our B3 religious school.  On those Fridays we start with a Tot Shabbat at 5:45 pm, followed by potluck at 6:15 pm, a family friendly service at 7:15 pm and dessert and coffee following the service.

On the second Friday of the month, services will be followed by a vegetarian (kosher fish OK) potluck dinner.  After kiddush and hamotzi we sing several songs chosen by congregants.  The meal concludes with birkat hamazon.

On the third Friday of the month the service will feature Shlomo Carlebach melodies and the oneg features wine and cheese.

Traditional service on the 4th and 5th Fridays of the month.

Shabbat Morning Services and Kiddush

Please join us every Shabbat Morning for our Traditional Service followed by a delicious kiddush and oneg. Services begin at 10:00 am and last until approximately 12:30 pm, followed by a Oneg, with food and conversation.

On the second Saturday of the month, we have our L’Dor V’Dor Shabbat service. This fun monthly program welcomes families to enjoy our Saturday Morning service with the whole community. Children can become familiar with our community’s songs and prayers and join us ont he bimah for the Torah Service and dancing.  A childcare professional will be onsite throughout the service to help and will lead a quiet activity in the social hall. Parents are invited to enjoy the service, but are expected to help attend to their children’s needs. Snacks will be available for those that need to nosh before kiddush.

Shabbat Dinners

We are organizing monthly, potluck Shabbat dinners in members’ homes. Members will be invited based on zip code to a home in their neighborhood. We are planning to invite everyone within a year.
