Erev Simchat Torah – Potluck Dinner and Candy Parade

October 12, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Congregations Ner Tamid and Beth Israel Judea will be joining us for the Dinner, Service and Candy Parade

Simchat Torah Celebration:

6:00  Veggie Potluck dinner
6:45 Brief Ma’ariv/evening service for adults
7:00 Roundup the kids and the torah scrolls for our annual candy parade
Along with a veggie dinner offering, bring bags for your children to march and collect “sweet blessings.”  Please bring candy to handout as well.  We’ll form a circle, march and dance with the torah scrolls, as they parade and fill up their bags.  (special note:  for those who aren’t fans of candy, someone renamed this “trick or torah” – a great way to hand that candy back out at the end of Oct.)
After seven circuits, we’ll gather in a circle to unroll the entire torah scroll, celebrating the end/beginning of coming full circle in our holiday cycle and new year.
